Two sisters both want the only orange left in the kitchen. After a short discussion they decide to divide it in half. They are satisfied: neither has had more than the other and both have something in their hands. They immediately realise that they could both have 100% of the individual utility of that orange and not be satisfied with only 50%, with maximum personal and communal satisfaction.
