A new beginning

da | 10 Nov, 19 | Editoriale |

In the age of abundant and always-available information, it is not obvious to focus on a printed magazine, to take over the reins, to reset it, to develop quality content that brings interest and added value.

However, we wanted to take up the challenge first and foremost because of the value, history and cultural wealth expressed by the AIS and ISA Italy associations of which this magazine is the official organ.

Starting with this edition, a sort of zero issue, since we have renewed the logo, title, graphic format and editorial structure of the magazine, our aim is to offer readers a wide-ranging and up-to-date overview of the world of automation, instrumentation and safety, with a focus on the process industry, and without neglecting discrete manufacturing, utilities and infrastructure.

This technological-industrial content base will be supplemented by transversal themes and columns: business processes, the product life cycle, technical analysis, business consultancy, new skills. And, of course, everything that touches on current affairs: new products, trade fairs and events, the life of associations, interviews with key players.

A fundamental aspect is that Automation Technology will not be a "solitary" magazine but will be part of a wider and interconnected information ecosystem made up of events, workshops, study days, web platforms, newsletters, social media presence, dedicated editorial series and more.

Due prominence will be given to the impact of Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation, which are revolutionising the approach to organisations, work, people and industrial processes "from the sensor to the Cloud". Digitisation that also in the process industry, the focus of the magazine, is favouring a reconfiguration of entire sectors such as oil & gas, food and pharmaceuticals, authentic jewels of Made in Italy.

Our effort will be to broaden the horizons of technical culture and to keep our antennae constantly tuned to innovation with new contributions. We will open ourselves up to the world by analysing the markets, the most interesting applications, technological trends and global challenges, using the English language for all this.

We hope you enjoy your reading!
