Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is Abu Dhabi's oil company, the Emirate's main engine of development, and aims to extract maximum value from its resources. In its digital transformation journey it can count on an incredible technological marvel, the Panorama Digital Command Centre, a control centre that uses artificial intelligence and Big Data to make better, faster, market-oriented and sustainable decisions.

From our Abu Dhabi correspondent, Neli Fazel

According to the Oil & Gas Journal, the UAE holds the seventh largest oil reserves in the world with 97.8 billion barrels. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), the state-owned oil company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is the twelfth largest in the world with a production of 3.1 million barrels per day.

Oil and gas producers, exposed like others to market volatility, are leveraging Industrial IoT, Big Data, advanced visualisation and artificial intelligence technologies to integrate and maximise economic returns across the asset and operational value chain.

ADNOC's Panorama Digital Command Centre is a fully integrated control centre concentrating these technologies, with real-time data visualisation, enabling the company to analyse processes in depth, identifying new paths to optimise performance. We spoke to the man who runs it, Abdul Nasser Al Mughairbi Digital Senior Vice President, Executive Office ADNOC.

Abdul Nasser started his career in 1990 as an operations engineer. He held various positions in processing plants and the pipeline division until becoming Senior Vice President in 2013. In 2016, he moved to ADNOC Group Headquarters as Digital Unit Manager in the Executive Office. He is one of the leading experts on the role of automation and digitalisation in oil and gas production and processing and is also President of the International Society of Automation UAE.
